Criteria for Membership

IELA is an association of Industry leaders. Therefore the requirements for membership are very important and cannot be loosened to for any reason.

Most important criteria to be ablte to join are:

1. The applicant must be in the exhibition logistics industry for at least 24 month
2. The applicant must present at least 3 sponsorships from IELA members that joined more than 24 month before handing in their recommendation
3. The company must have staff that is able to communicate in business fluent english with its customers and IELA members
4. Applicants must accept IELA's Articles and By-Laws where all application criterias are listed in detail.

To verify these criterias IELA will ask for official documentation that will be handled with confidence. Please find IELA's general Data protection regulations here.
Lack of any of the documents requested for the membership application will lead to the rejection of the application.

After the application has been send to the secretariat in full it will be checked for completion and any possible mistakes.
When this is completed the IELA Membership Working Group will examine the application in detail and vote on it's recommendation for the Board of Management.
The Board will take into account the recommendation by the Working Group and vote on the application.

If the applicant is accepted they will be informed by the IELA Secretariat, together with all members that a 30 days waiting period starts immediately to give all members the opportunity to raise any objections on the membership. If any reasonable objections are raised the board will discuss this matter and try to resolve this together with the applicant. With no objections your Membership will become official after the 30 days.

At any stage of this process the secretariat might contact the applicant with questions or request for addition documents.

New members must attend the first general Assembly following their acceptance as a member.
